Snowdonia National Park

On a cold wet and very windy March day we opened our account in Snowdonia. After an early start a drive to Dublin and a quick hop across the Irish sea on the ferry we made it to Holyhead.

A quick check over by the welsh police and there sniffer dog and we continued on into the welsh mountains.

As you drive up the A5 from Bangor towards Betws-y-coed you really get a feeling of the size of these mountains. Houses in the valleys below are dwarfed by the steep sided mountains that just seamlesly disappear into the low lying hill fog. What a feeling to be here the rain lashing the wind whipping at you and a climb ahead of over 3000ft to the top of Snowdonias highest peak.

All grid references are taken from a 1:25,000 scale map from the ordnance Survey Explorer Map entitled OL17.
