Slieve Bearnagh | Height:- 739m / 2,424ft | Summit Grid Ref:- 313,281
Up the Trassy track to the Mourne wall at Hare's gap is a nice easy sunday afternoon stroll, hat is untill you cross the wall and head right up Slieve Bearnagh with its out crops on its 2 summits (north Tor and summit tor) the Bearnagh Slabs split the mourne wall at the top of North Tor before a small climb up to summit tor.
The Bearnagh Slabs atop North Tor provide the ideal place for a wee rest after a long and arduous climb.
You only get a real idea of the size of the slabs when you stand underneath them. Both Ben Crom and Silent Valley reservoirs can be seen from here.
A view back along the wall towards NorthTor and a glimps of the Rocky Summit Tor, this can be climbs for fantastic views accross the mournes, but do not be decieved for it is not for the week hearted these 10m high rocks take some climbing to get atop of and then the near vertical drop off on the other side can leave even the stognest climber weak at the knees.
