Slieve Meelbeg | Height:- 708m / 2,322ft | Summit Grid Ref:- 301,279
Theres not really a direct route to the summit of Slieve Meelbeg, the best route would be from the Trassy Road Car park near fofanny dam straight up till you reach the mourne wall then turn right, but the route I prefere takes you to the mourne wall then up and over Slieve Loughshannagh (619m).
The barren summit of Slieve Meelbeg is very dessolate with rocks sproting from the ground all over the place its hard to find anyware comfy to sit for a wee cup of tea.
A wee Cairn at the top and the mourne wall are all that grace the top, you getthe feeling of this peak being a "hi were just passing through" sort of place.
